- NEW FORUM FOR VLAB MOTION / MOVIESHOP USERS
-
- Like many other users of the fine and unique Macrosystem NLE products, I
- have been frustrated by the difficulty in making contact with other
- users. This has nothing to do with tech support, which in the US has
- been great (Thanks, Sherwood!), but I want to be able to discuss
- problems, techniques, and issues with others.
-
- Most of the information I have been able to find has been scattered
- through the Amiga newsgroups and is hard to follow amidst the zillions of
- other threads. I have refrained from posting, as I didn't think too many
- would be looking there in the first place...
-
- Thanks to "list-owner" Bill Ranck at Virginia Polytechnic (US), we are
- cleared to use an obsolescent Listserv e-mail list called VIDEOTEC. The
- advantages to this are that people without Usenet access (but obviously
- with e-mail) can be included, and that VLab Motion / MovieShop / Draco /
- etc. can be discussed in a noise-free environment, at least for now.
-
- To join VIDEOTEC, send an e-mail message to LISTSERV@VTVM1.CC.VT.EDU with
- no subject, containing only the line SUBSCRIBE VIDEOTEC [your name]. You
- should receive confirmation and information on setting your "preferences".
-
- Please note that I have just found this forum and don't have the knowledge
- or access to moderate or maintain the list. Mr. Ranck was kind enough to
- let this little marauding band of very particular video folks use the list
- he maintains. Please follow the Listserv instructions carefully and
- hopefully we won't wear out our welcome.
-
- In particular, the thing that I have seen drive other list owners and
- subscribers nuts is when people try to send Listserv command (subscribe,
- digest, unsubscribe) to the list (VIDEOTEC) address rather than to the
- Listserv address. If you haven't used e-mail lists before, don't be
- frightened -- just do what the instructions suggest.
-
- Enough lecturing. I hope VLab Motion users will pass this information on
- to others so we can have a lively and useful forum for all who are
- interested. Hope to read you on VIDEOTEC!
